Head Start

Day of the Race is the celebration of the Hispanic heritage

of Latin America. Now, 500 plus years later, we recall the

actions and influences of all the people who came after

Christopher Columbus, who blended their European cul-

ture with the indigenous cultures to create the multi-

cultural, multi-ethnic society that Latin America is today.

El Día de la Raza es la celebración de la herencia Hispana de

América Latina. Ahora, 500 años después, recordamos las

acciones e influencias de todas las personas que vinieron des-

pués de Cristóbal Colón, quienes mezclaron su cultura europea

con las culturas indígenas para crear la sociedad multicultural y

multiétnica, que América Latina es hoy en día.
