Our Portland office is continuing to build momentum, recently completing several different projects including high accuracy transportation mapping, airfield obstruction mapping, and orthophotography.

HQ maintains a consistent flow of work as well with recent activities including volumetric surveys for quarries, several interesting bike path planning tasks, railroad corridor mapping, and a floodplain analysis of an urban Chicago nature preserve.

Continental Mapping Relocates Indiana OfficeContinental Mapping’s experienced CADD and GIS staff recently put on a day long workshop for GIS staff at American Transmission Company (ATC). The MicroStation training was tailored to allow them to create, edit, and update landbase information for their plan and profile drawings used by ATC’s engineering and real estate departments. This training allowed ATC staff to see the workflows Continental Mapping has developed to take GIS base data and convert it to CADD, allowing ATC to add to the data using their in-house tools. The training also gave an overview of the tools and functions of MicroStation and will allow them to create standards and protocols for plan and profile drawings done in-house as well as those contracted to consultants.
