Hello Devonshire,
I hope you are all well and keeping safe.
It has been fantastic to welcome back our Key Worker and Vulnerable pupils back into school and to resume our blended remote learning. I hope you all have had a great Half Term holiday.
I’m delighted that the building work and refurbishment of the Year 1 and Year 2 deck is almost complete. We are hoping to move all of our Year 1 and Year 2 bubbles back into their normal classrooms early next week. The decks are looking amazing and we can’t wait to see the pupils playing on the new equipment – they are going to love it!
You will, I’m sure, have noticed the Government announcement of a full return for Primary schools on March 8th. All the staff are busy preparing for all the children to return. With the support of yourselves, we want the return to be as safe as possible. I will be sending out some important information early next week which you will be able to see on all platforms. It’s essential that you spend some time looking at this.
Remember to keep yourselves up to date with Dojo. Here, you’ll not only find photos and videos of children’s work, but lots of information about forthcoming events in and outside of school.
I’d like to thank all members of the Devonshire family for their continued support.

Year 6 have been creating their very own Non-Chronological Reports this week on Anderson shelters; writing
about Sir John Anderson (the inventor of the shelter); how they are made and which materials were used, the
conditions people had to endure during the Blitz and how well the shelters kept the people of Britain
safe, during 1940-1941. Year 6 have also been very busy
making their very own Anderson shelters and allotments
Look how good they are!
Year 4 made Roman catapults and conducted a science investigation
into how volcanoes erupt by observing a chemical reaction.
The COVID Financial Support Scheme can help residents who have
been financially affected by the pandemic. The scheme can provide
financial help to families and people who are vulnerable and have been impacted
financially by the Coronavirus pandemic, particularly during the winter months.
Examples of financial impact are if a member of the household has been furloughed, made
redundant or had working hours reduced. The scheme can assist people who have arrears or are struggling to pay essential
household bills such as Gas and electricity, United Utility and Council Tax and other essential expenses may be considered.
