The Faith of the Centurion:Matthew 8:5-17 “5 When Jesus had entered

Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies

at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”

8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word,

and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’

and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not

found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be

weeping and gnashing of teeth.”13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be

done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

The Compassion of Jesus

preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and

healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak,

and immediately her bleeding stopped.45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.

When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against

you.”46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his

feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had

been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in

peace.”

Luke 8:49-56 “49 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to

him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.”

50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made

well.” 51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and

mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing

that she was dead.54 But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and

called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He

commanded that she be given something to eat. 56 And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to

tell no one what had happened. 16

James 5:16 “Confess your trespasses

to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a

righteous man avails much.“ 17

1 Peter 2:24 “24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose

stripes you were healed.18

Rev 21:4 “4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall

be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
