Health and Fitness

• If you are not fit and healthy you will get a lot of problems later in life.

• To be healthy you need to eat the right amount of food from each food group.

• To be fit you need to exercise at least 60 minutes a day.

Exercise

• It is essential for your body to have at least 60 minutes of exercise a day but exercising too much can be bad because you can get pains.

• Exercising is needed because sitting down makes your muscles stiff.

• Four things needed whilst exercising is strength, stamina, suppleness and of course water.

• Best ways to exercise are swimming, skipping and football.

Calories• Your body needs calories but not too

many.

• A bit of calories are good and stored as energy.

• A lot of calories are bad and stored as fat.

• Genes are what make us who we are whether extra calories are stored as fat or energy.

Health

• Your body needs 2 fruit and 5 vegetables a day.

• Your body also needs a bit of food from each group to be healthy.

Food Groups• Carbohydrates. Main source of energy.

• Fats. Source of energy and keeps body warm.

• Vitamins and Minerals. Helps body grow healthy.

• Protein. Repairs body tissue.

• Fibre. Keeps digestive system healthy and functioning properly.

Water

• At least 75% of your body is filled with water.

• Water keeps you hydrated.

• You need at least 6 glasses of water a day.

Obesity• Obesity is when a person has extra body fat.• Obesity is caused by eating too many calories

and not exercising.• Anyone can become obese even kids.• Generally kids that are obese will become obese

when they are older.• Kids are affected because when they see

famous skinny models they start to hate themselves.

What’s been done?

• There are programs and television shows that help us to be fit and healthy.

• You can read books for tips.

• Healthy cooking classes.

• You can also visit nutritionists for help.

What can we do to help?

• Stop calling people names because that will make them depressed which makes them eat more food.

• Heart Disease

• Type 2 Diabetes

• Obstructive Sleep Apnea

• Cancer

• Osteoarthritis

• Early Death

Solutions

• Start eating healthy.

• Exercising at least 60 minutes a day.

• Go on healthy diets.

• Visit nutritionists.

Heart Disease• People get heaps of tests to find out if

they’re diagnosed.

• People get it from being obese/overweight, not exercising or eating right.

• The symptoms are high blood pressure, hardening of heart, chest pains, heart attacks or strokes.

• Heaps of people die from heart disease.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea• It effects males more than woman.• It is caused by obesity or weight gain.• It damages your brain, heart, kidney and

other vital organs.• The symptoms are snoring, sleepiness,

choking, morning headaches, poor memory, depression, behavioural disorders, restless sleep, breathlessness and heart burns.
