CPR & RESCUE BREATHING

C.P.R. - Adult - Tilt head back, lift chin, check breathing Call 911 2 Breaths Position hands in center of chest, push down firmly, 2” depth, 100 times Repeat until help comes

C.P.R. - Child Tilt head back, lift chin, check breathing 1-8 yrs If you are alone with the child, give 2 minutes of CPR before calling 911 2 Breaths Use heel of 1 hand, 30 compressions to approximately 1.5 depth of chest

C.P.R. - Infants Shout and tap infant gently on the shoulder If no response: Lift chin to tilt head back (not too far) If baby is not breathing: 2 Gentle breaths, 1 second long (your mouth covering baby’s mouth and nose) 30 Gentle compressions, two-three fingers in center of chest just below nipples, to approximately 1.5 depth of chest Repeat cycles-after two minutes call 911, continue breaths and compressions

RESCUE BREATHING

Adult: Tilt head back, lift chin, pinch nose shut 2-3 SLOW breaths into the mouth (blow until chest gently rises) Check for pulse & make sure heart is still beating If pulse is present but victim not breathing, call 911 Give 1 SLOW breath about every 3 seconds for 1 minute Recheck pulse and breathing about once a minute

Child: Tilt head back, lift chin, pinch nose shut 2 SLOW breaths into the mouth until chest gently rises Check for pulse & heartbeat If pulse is present but victim not breathing, call 911 1 SLOW breath about every 3 seconds for 1 minute Recheck pulse and breathing about once a minute Continue as long as pulse is present but person is not breathing

Infant: Tilt head back (not as far), lift chin Seal lips tightly around infant’s mouth and nose Fill your cheeks with air and give two SLOW breaths-breathe until chest gently rises. Check for pulse
