Health and Safety Act 2004 sets out broad responsibilities for employers’, employees and others whilst at their place of work.  Every person at the place of work has a role to play in ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others.

Managers and Supervisors particularly have a legal responsibility to do whatever is reasonably practicable to make sure that the workplace, methods of work and equipment is safe and does not affect the health, safety and welfare of employees and others.

Employees also have responsibilities.

Employer is responsible for Maintaining a Safe and Healthy workplace at all times for

staff, students and visitors. Ensuring that activities carried out do not endanger people. Have Safe working procedures and systems which follow

legislative requirements. Implement workplace health and safety policies Ensuring resources and facilities are provided to support

OH&S. Ensure Hazards are Identified and assessed. Provide information on OH&S to staff. Provide Protective equipment and clothing. Provide and maintain equipment Provide effective instruction and Competent supervision. And more………………………

are required to co-operate and actively contribute to the health and safety of themselves and others within the workplace who may be affected by their acts or omissions

must wear any personal protective equipment provided must follow supervisors occupational health and safety

instructions must report any identified hazards to their supervisor must report immediately any accidents or incidents must not wilfully damage any thing provided for the health and

safety of themselves or others at the place of work

EVERYONE AT A WORKPLACE IS UNTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR

OWN SAFETY AND THAT OF THEIR WORKMATES
