Course SummaryThis course will provide you with an introduction to the Health, Social Care and Early Years work sectors. The course will appeal to you if you have a strong interest in health, social care or early year’s services and acts as a good basis for developing a career in care settings including residential homes, hospitals, day centres, nurseries and community services.

You will learn about the needs and rights of different groups of people who use these services. These include children, older people and those with various illnesses and disabilities. You will also learn to plan, organise and produce written work and to develop your study skills and skills in IT and communication. Throughout the year you will grow in confidence and skills allowing you to progress to level 3 courses or into the workplace.

The course is 100% coursework.

Progression skills and opportunitiesYou will develop your study skills enabling you to move on to a Level 3 Extended Diploma course. Work placement opportunities will also develop you employability enabling you to progress to the work place if you choose.
