A proverb says- “You can lead a horse to the water, but you can’t make him drink, unless he wants to” but the concept has improved upon and nowadays “Make the horse thirsty, before you take him and show the water”.

In other words make the people realize that health is most valuable asset which will shape their activities. Then it is easy task for health professionals to enrich people with health education

As per WHO- “Health education is any combination of learning experiences designed to help individuals and communities improve their health, by increasing their knowledge or influencing their attitudes”.

Group size should be < 20-25 members It is based on the principle that the members of

the group are helped to think, discuss, decide and then follow up their decisions by action

Health education in community requires support of local leaders who are influential and have people’s support (Sarpanch, Patwari, School teacher etc)
