Leading the WayThinking outside of the box can help build your AIM business by leading the way to new opportunities. Chairman’s Club Director Lanny Donald and three Members in her downline did just that by staffing an AIM booth at the BC Home School Expo in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on June 1–2, 2012. The event is organized by the BC Home School Association (BCHSA)—a registered society that endeavors to inform, support, and encourage families choosing to provide their child with a home-based education.

Did you know that around 60,000 children are home-schooled in Canada? In some provinces, parents are not required to register their children with a school board, so the number is most likely higher. The opportunity to lead the way in your own community awaits you.

Around 2,000 people attended the expo, so Lanny and AIM Directors Saliem Kievet, Masako Moriyama, and Jensina Donald were kept very busy. They signed up new Members, processed cash sales, and made many new contacts. Many of the people who visited their booth were surprised to see the AIM booth because they had not considered that nutrition

could be related to the educational progress of their children.

The BC Home School Expo was an educational experience on many levels, and Lanny has already registered for next year’s event, which gives her time to advertise beforehand. Given the level of interest in what the AIM products can do for their families, Jensina plans to have a table just for counseling attendees.

This group of AIM business builders is leading the way in British Columbia. Now it’s your turn.

Back to school at The AIM Academy Whether you have been an AIM Member since 1982 or just joined the AIM family today, the AIM Academy is for you. The academy is designed to give you the knowledge that you need to comfortably share the AIM message of good health and to build and maintain a viable home-based business. Education is important because it equips you with all that is needed to make your dreams come true.

The AIM Academy is made up of the School of Nutrition and the School of Success.The coursework in each school is designed to be informative and entertaining and should be

completed at your own pace. We recommend that you not try to rush through it. Give yourself the time needed to absorb as much knowledge as you can. This approach can be of benefit to you when evaluating a person’s particular health needs, sharing the AIM products, and eventually bringing them into your circle of life.

Upon completion of the coursework provided by both schools, you will be certified as an AIM Living Well Coach. However, the AIM Academy is open-ended, as additional coursework will be added on a regular basis. Those who have been previously certified will be contacted about the additions as part of a continuing education program. Veggie D Garden Trio Power DrinkShared by Director Jean Dukes, TexasIn the past, Chairman’s Club Director Dr. Mary Ruth Swope suggested making a Garden Trio power drink using the AIM Garden Trio® and adding other ingredients such as a bottled vegetable juice and cayenne pepper.

Since AIM Veggie D™ has a rich variety of vegetables, it takes the place of a prepared vegetable juice. And with its spicy flavor, it can also replace the cayenne pepper, unless you like even more of a kick.

Here is my updated version of this drink, jam-packed with vitamin D and very tasty, too. This is my breakfast every morning, and I generally don’t get hungry until lunch time. You can prepare individual daily servings of this drink, but I prefer to make it in bulk. You may want to adjust the ingredients to your personal preference.

• 1½ cups of AIM BarleyLife® and AIM BarleyLife Xtra®, mixed 50/50

• 1 canister of AIM Just Carrots®• ⅓ of a canister of AIM RediBeets® (about a

generous ⅓ of a cup)• 1 cansiter of Veggie D• 1⅓ cup of CalciAIM™ • 10 tbsp. AIM LeafGreens®• ½ tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a large container and shake well. I use two heaping scoops (the one that comes in AIM ProPeas™) in two cups of water and also add the juice of ½ of a lemon. Shake well and enjoy!

Toxins nearly killed me, AIM saved meBernadette Pickett, AIM Director, Kimball, MichiganOver thirty years ago I was rushed to the hospital overnight to the emergency unit. My upper lip had started swelling earlier that evening. My whole face was numb and all puffed up. I had huge lumps all over my body that were so itchy that I could hardly bear it. I was unrecognizable, and looked like a gorilla without all the hair. This was the turning point of my life.

The doctor immediately filled me with two drugs to quickly help the swelling go down. He literally saved my life that night. He told me later that I had reacted from an overdose of toxins in my body, mainly MSG and aspartame. He told me that I swelled outwardly, instead of internally, which gave me more time, but my throat would have closed up completely had I not arrived at the emergency when I did.

The doctor said I’d have to carry Benadryl® with me the rest of my life. For several years, I was forced to read labels of everything I bought at grocery stores and had to be very careful when I ate out. I found myself taking Benadryl very often to keep from swelling up again, and my eyes went from 20-20 vision to where I needed glasses. Most of my busy days at work, I felt like a zombie, my brain felt numb, and it was a struggle to get through each day. With our business, when we travelled by air, I always needed to take extra Benadryl because of the high level of preservatives in the foods that created swelling and then produced pressure in my head. But what had seemed like a curse, turned into a blessing.
