HEALTH ON WHEELS

Cycling Projects has been instrumental in the development of community based cycle programmes across the UK with their HEALTH ON WHEELS initiative.

The programmes have been developed in partnership with local Primary Care trusts and Sports Development Teams within Local Borough Councils with the simple aim of promoting cycling as a healthy, sustainable and enjoyable mode of physical activity.

“Our Cycle for Health scheme has grown due to the partnership we formed with Cycling Projects. We struggled to sustain our project initially but with their help, knowledge and volunteer training packages, we have built a sustainable and ever growing scheme”

NHS Lead for Physical Activity, 2011.
