About Health Information

BCBSAZ collects information for HealthyBlue program participation through a variety of sources. Thisinformationmaybecollectedfrom: • Claimsdata • Self-reporteddata

Claims data includes medical claims as well as pharmacyclaims.Self-reporteddatacanbecollected online through the Internet, through paper-basedhealthassessmentsoroverthe phone. Examples of online information include: the BCBSAZ online health assessment, health behaviorchangeprogramsandsurveys.Examples oftelephonicdatainclude:Nurse-lineutilization,health coaching and surveys.

Securing Information

Protectingandlimitingaccesstomemberhealthinformation is a top priority at BCBSAZ. We have many processes and procedures in place to not only streamlineinformation,butlimitthedistributionand access to it. In addition, securing information isofutmostimportance.Weemploysecure128-bitencryption technology when transmitting information over the Internet.
