The integration program
for Hearing Impairment
started in 1979 at SMK Aminuddin Baki, Jalan Abdul Samad, Johor Bahru.
In January 2005, theprogram moved to SMK Taman Sutera, Taman Ungku Tun Aminah,Johor Bahru. At present we have 55students and 15 teachers.

ACCORDING TO FORM 6.5 STUDENTS TO ONE CLASS 1 CLASS TO 1.5 TEACHER
The hearing impaired students are taught using Total Communication approach.
Total Communication consists of Sign Language, Gestures, Body Language, Lip reading and Facial Expression
Sign language used is based on American Sign Language, Sign Exact English, Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia and Bahasa Melayu Kod Tangan
The curriculum used is the National Curriculum
However, the curriculum can be adapted to suit the needs of students
Students have to sit for national examination such as UPSR, PMR and SPM
Academic – students who are more academically incline are given extra guidance to enable them to pursue in the local colleges and universities
Technical and Vocational – students who have potentials in vocational skills are geared so as they can pursue studies at the vocational schools and local polytechnics.
Career – students who nearly complete their secondary studies are arranged working skills with suitable agencies.
