REGIS PREPARES LEADERS

The Regis School focuses on preparing students as the next generation of leaders. Many

opportunities are provided to strengthen character and develop skills based on mutual respect

and cooperation. Lessons in leadership begin early in the classroom or on the playing field

through group interaction. Students learn a spirit of collaboration, acceptance, and community

through teamwork and partnership. As students mature and demonstrate the leadership

skills representative of Regis, more responsibilities are shared. Our boys become scholars and

gentlemen through these experiences.

2013-14 STUDENT COUNCIL

At the beginning of the school year I had the

opportunity to address you as the new Head of School.

In that letter I quoted Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ, whose

centenary we celebrated as one of the Network of

Sacred Heart schools during the 2013-14 school year.

You might recall the celebration of Mother Stuart’s life

and legacy concluded with a live network-wide webcast

in October from our Sacred Heart school in Princeton.

In that summer letter to you, I included the quote from

Mother Stuart, “It Is The Gift of Your Heart That God

Wants!” One of my most vital responsibilities as Head

of School is to offer authentic appreciation to you as

members of our Regis community. The generosity you

demonstrate has a lasting impact on the lives of our

boys and teachers. Indeed, the entire school community

is enhanced by your decision to give. So it is with great

pride in the mission of the The Regis School that I thank

you for your commitment to our boys!

Upon my arrival, together with the Board of Directors,

we have set out on a new journey with a forthcoming

strategic plan that will guide us in the years to come. In

reflecting back on the giving of our community during

the 2013-14 school year, I see how Regis has been

shaped and prepared for the journey ahead.

This annual report demonstrates how participating in the

Regis Fund, our Annual Auction, and our Scholarships

Program helps change the face of Regis for the future.

From the beginning, Regis has relied on the generosity

of parents, alumni, and friends to make possible a Sacred

Heart education for boys. What we offer in the form of

small class sizes, distinctive boy instruction and learning,

and well-maintained and innovative facilities is possible

because of your commitment to excellence. What could

be more important than helping to create and maintain

a quality Sacred Heart education for our Regis boys?

Yes, it truly is the gift of your heart that God wants and

your decision to entrust your boys to the Regis School is

The Regis School of the Sacred Heart is an independent Catholic school for boys in grades 3 Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. It is the only all boys Catholic school affiliated with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Established in 1991 by families whose daughters attended its sister school, Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, Regis holds membership with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools, and is accredited through the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest and the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department.

As a Sacred Heart School, A Regis education encompasses intellectual, spiritual, moral, and leadership development. The school offers a challenging core curriculum focused on the specific learning style of boys. Additionally, Regis prepares its students for continuation of their education at the finest high schools in Houston.
