For the most direct route to these attractions, follow the blue dots on this map: ELEVATOR SYSTEM – GREAT RIFT LIFT The 1,800-acre San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park is operated by the not-for-profit San Diego Zoo and includes a 900-acre native species reserve. The organization focuses on conservation and research work around the globe, educates millions of individuals a year about wildlife and maintains accredited horticultural, animal, library and photo collections. The Zoo also manages the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo's Institute for Conservation Research. Listen for public address announcements. To promote and assist conservation efforts, recycling containers for aluminum, plastic, and glass are located throughout the Park. Remember to wash your hands after any contact with animals and before eating. For safety reasons, strollers must be parked outside show amphitheaters. Guests 15 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All Park guests must wear appropriate clothing, including shirts and shoes. Clothing is required at water play areas. The following items are not allowed on Park grounds: weapons, pets, skates, shoes with wheels, open-speaker radios, and portable public address systems.
