Andrew was diagnosed with Marfan’s Syndrome when he was fourteen years old. He went through a series of open heart surgeries and well as a couple valve replacements.

His life

After Andrew graduated, he started working at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House. He worked there for years until he attempted to find another job. He ended up without a job and continued to live at home until he had his massive heart attack. Other places wouldn’t hire him because of his condition. He’s remembered as a funny and pleasant guy to be around. Andrew had so many friends that he would be around with. We had a typical brother-sister relationship, but he still means the world to me.

My brother got a cough bear from the hospital after his open heart surgeries. Every time he coughed, he was supposed to squeeze the bear. He ended up bringing it home after his surgeries. He even named the small bear. Butterball was the creative name that popped into Andy’s head and from there on out he was known as just that.
