Diagnosis and Treatment Through the achievements
of generations of famous doctors, it has developed into a sophisticated medical system of the-ory, methodology, prescriptions and drugs
External and the body. The body as a microcosm
The basic premise of Chinese medical theory is that human body itself and the environ-ment are an integral entity, and interact with each others. The health condition can be deduced through observing the
manifestation of the body.
The role of Yin and Yang The philosophical principle upon which Chi-nese medicine is based.
A scientific realm not replaced by recent science.
The alternation between Yin (literally shadow) and Yang (literally light/
sun) sustains the existence of the universe.
None of Yin and Yang can be identified as good or bad. The ideal condition is
to have both in harmony.
