Once we reached Heaton Park itself the lighting became an issue straight away, as due to winter weather conditions it is now turning dark at 4pm. We overcame this problem by using the car fog lights in order to get a beam onto our models. By using these lights we got some successful shots and some unsuccessful but we used the equipment we had to our full potential. I feel this particular lighting gives an edgy feel and sets the relaxed tone of the album we are hoping to create. Although we are happy with some of these shots with regards to lighting we will be going back at an earlier time in order to see whether the light makes a difference in terms of the quality of an image.

As we were limited for light, we sat the model in front of the cars on a patch of grass, in order to get the best quality image we could. Due to the fact that our album represents the winter and seasons, I choose to stand above our model and scatter leaves over him in order to create this seasonal winter look. By scattering them it made the leaves look like they had actually fallen naturally rather than just being placed.

By scattering the leaves these were the two pictures we produced after this decision was made. The first picture I feel the model looks distorted and in and uncomfortable position and the picture reflects this. The picture on the left how-ever I feel is very professional in terms of the models pose as he looks comfortable and un-stiff. The range of colours e.g brown, blue, beige and grey I feel reflect the winter season very well and in turn tie in with our overall theme of seasons.

These two particular pictures I have chosen to use an example to show how limited the lighting actually was in order to produce the image quality we wanted. The pictures are of a bad quality and wouldn’t be appropriate for the front cover as they are unprofessional and do not meet the high standard we wish to produce. Although the quality is bad the composition of the models, the background and the props in the image itself I feel could be very successful as it creates a more realistic natural photograph, which I feel is different from any of our competitors as it will stand out and reflects that relaxed and vibrant feel we are looking to create.

I have chosen to show these pictures to show you the props we used. The guitar was used in order to add to the indie and nature look I am hoping to create. As the guitar is a big part of the album in terms of sound we felt it was adequate to include this. The second image was chosen in order to show the jacket we used in order to keep our models from getting wet and to ensure the models we are able to pose in the conditions.
