But why should I keep on trusting God?

The answer lies in truly knowing the Greatness, the Goodness,

and the Wisdom of Jesus Christ!

There are three offices in the Old Testament that meet three great needs of man. The office of the prophet meets man’s need for revelation. The office of the king meets man’s need for restoration. The office of the priest meets man’s need for reconciliation.

While there were prophets (messengers), kings (deliverers), and priests (mediators) in the Old Testament, only the promised Messiah – Jesus the Christ, can perfectly fulfill all three Old Testament offices.

If man is to know God accurately and intimately, he needs God to reveal Himself to man. If God has a message for man, He must have a messenger.

1. The Prophets

a. “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,” (Hebrews 1:1)

b. God chose certain men to serve Him as prophets who will bring His messages to the people.

2. The Angels

a. “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)

b. God sent angels to bring messages to and care for his people.

a. “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
