The highlight of July will be when Hebron’s Fellow-ship/Service Committee hosts a Church Picnic on Sun-day, July 23, immediately following Morning Worship.
The church will provide hot dogs and hamburgers. Duane Dean has agreed to be the grillmaster and will cook the burgers and dogs on the church charcoal grill. Plans are in the works to provide some homemade ice cream, and the congregation is asked to bring side dishes and desserts. Volunteers to help with cleanup would be appreciated.
For more information, or to volunteer to help with the event in any way, please contact Fellowship/Service members Lori Malcolm, Scott Martin, or Anita Tuttle.
PW Directory Being Updated The Presbyterian Women’s Directory is being updat-
ed for 2017-2018. The women are grateful to all who have served in past years, and the Search Committee is asking all who served last year to continue in their posi-tions. If you cannot, you are asked to inform Hilda Dundas or Joyce Coleman by July 31.
PW 2017-2018 Bible Study Materials Available If you would like to join the Women of the Church
for a monthly Bible Study and Circle meeting for the coming year, please pick up a complimentary copy of the study booklet in the hallway just outside the library. Circles 1 and 2 meet on the second Tuesday of each month September through May from 1:30 till 3:00 p.m.
The women will once again use the Horizons Bible Study prepared by the PCUSA. This year’s theme is Cloud of Witnesses: The Community of Christ in the Letter to the Hebrews.

Hebron Will Have Church Picnic July 23
‘Thank You!’ from Beverley Manor Dear Hebron Church,
I wanted to take one final opportunity to say “thank you” for your endless generosity in supporting students and families of Beverley Manor Elementary School. Your kindness has been a vital part of our positive, stu-dent-centered school community over many years. Thank you for your continuous support of our weekly food bag program, and the students it served. You defi-nitely represent the idea that “it takes a village to raise a child.” With sincere thanks,
Miranda Ball, Principal

To Celebrate America, Begin With Thanks To God On July 4, 2017, we will celebrate the 241st birthday
of the United States of America. Even as we celebrate the human and political institution that is our nation, along with being thankful for the abundant beauty and blessings of the natural resources within our national borders, we must be careful to give even more thanks to God.
The Star Spangled Banner, the U.S. national anthem, includes in the final verse, “Blest with victory and peace, may the Heav’n rescued land / Praise the Power
that hath made and preserved us a nation.” “Heaven” and “Power” are capitalized because they stand for God in that sentence. This verse says God made and pre-served this nation, rescuing it in wartime.
And as Psalm 33:16-17 tells us, “A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save.”
Be grateful for all who now serve, and all who have served, our nation. But begin with gratitude to God.
