HEIKO ZAHLMA NN (1 973, GERMA NY)

For years Heiko Zahlmann has been active in the international urban art scene, whereby architectural substrates and concrete walls always served as his image carrier. His graffiti past is still evident in his work today.

Concrete, color, scripture, often site-specific-ity - the basic elements are unchanged. And yet his work has greatly developed.

His spatial wall works move between archi-tecture, sculpture, painting and drawing. Working in situ, they relate to the space and its surroundings. Scripture still forms the basis of the now three-dimensional forms, but in a highly abstracted form it is recognizable only at second glance.

Zahlmann was born 1973 in Hamburg. After spraying hundreds of graffiti’s, his oeuvre is now being exhibited in international galleriesand institutions. Some of his wall works are permanently installed, e.g. in the Hotel At-lantic, Hamburg, in the FBC Frankfurt as well as in various private collections. In addition works are being created in the public space. Zahlmann lives and works in Hamburg.
