Analysis ClassificationsThese classifications can be used to further describe the attributes based on the requirement of business. In Shoper, there is a facility to further classify the attributes as 32 Analysis codes. Usage of all the Analysis codes is not mandatory.

Steps to Classify Item Master.Following are the steps to classify an item master under various Business scenarios.

1. Identify the type of business.

Example: whether the store is dealing with a single brand (exclusive) or with more than one brand (multi-brand) or one off (many brands, products and receiving items from several suppliers)

2. Identify whether the store is one-off, buy and sell consignment or a Chain store.

In case of a One-off store, the customer would like to view the sales and stock reports based on the product and the supplier, as the later is crucial for reporting (…reporting what?) and transactions. Here, class1 and class2cd can be classified as product and supplier or vice versa.

In case of Buy and Sell, the customer would like to view the reports based on the prod-uct and brand. Here, the supplier will have least significance. The class1 and class2cd can be classified as product and brand or vice versa.

In case of Consignment, the customer would like to view reports on the brand and product. Here, the brand would be crucial for the business. The class1 and class2cd can be classified as brand and product.

3. An item attribute can be further classified by mapping with 32 analysis classifications of Shoper based on customer requirement. Example, fabric type, fit, styling, usage, imported, local, etc.

4. In case of multi-segment / multi-floor / Jewellery stores, each item can be grouped based on segments and floors, as super classifications in Shoper. Example, department, brand, business type, etc.

Shown below is the procedure for item master mapping, taking two business scenarios of readymade garments as an example:
