INVITATION TO BID

This invitation is extended by the Susquehanna County Historical Society and Free Library Association for the construction of the described project. Sealed bids are invited for a single prime Electrical Construction Contract.

Description of Work: This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, new low voltage provisions for fire, security telecommunications, door access, CATV, CCTV, and door intercom. The project site is situated at the Intersection of State Route 1026 (School House Road) and Township Road 704. The Building is presently under construction by C.W. Grimm Construction, Inc., and is expected to be en-closed by the end of Novem-ber 2016.

Receipt of Bids: Sealed Bids will be received until 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, Novem-ber 2, 2016, at the Susquehan-na County Historical Society and Free Library Association, 18 Monument. Street, Mon-trose, PA 18801. Bids will be privately opened at the conve-nience of the Library Board.

Construction Documents may be obtained at Steamtown Blueprint & Copy Center, Inc., 308 Penn Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503, (570)961-1315 Con-struction Documents obtained through Steamtown Blueprint & Copy Center are produced upon request and must be pre-ordered. A complete set of documents shall be pur-chased by each bidder at the nonrefundable cost of $40.00 /set, plus shipping if requested. Checks shall be made payable to Steamtown Blueprint & Copy Center, Inc. Construc-tion documents will be avail-able beginning Wednesday October 12, 2016, after 10:00 AM and documents may be reviewed at Steamtown Blue-print during normal business hours. Prime Contractors pur-chasing bid documents must register at the place of pur-chase in order to ensure that they will receive information issued during the bid period.

Bid Security: A certified check or bank draft, US Gov-ernment Bonds or a Satisfac-tory Bid Bond in an amount not less than 10 percent (10%) of the amount of the bid and drafted in favor of the Susque-hanna County Historical So-ciety and Free Library Asso-ciation shall be submitted with each bid.

Bonds: The successful bid-der will be required to furnish and pay for Performance and Payment Bonds which are ac-ceptable to the Association.

Association Rights: The Association reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.

Proposal Term: No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the bid due date without the consent of the Association.

Contract Time: The Low Voltage Contract shall be sub-stantially completed within One Hundred and Eighty (180) consecutive calendar days from the date established in the written “Notice to Pro-ceed”.
