You may be saying to yourself…”Whoa! It seems like there are a lot of people

involved in teaching this course!”

You’re right - there are!

The most important thing for you to know is who to go to for what kind of help. So here’s a little run down…

If you have a question about the content

of Biology 103, Diversity of Life:

Talk to the professor that is currently lecturing. (There are 3 professors involved with this course!) The best bet is to catch them during office hours. See the course web page for how to get a hold of them and when they’ll be holding office hours. If you can’t make their office hours, contact them to make other arrangements.

If you have a question about the lab, Biology 104:

• Contact your TA. (See contacts under course web page). Know what lab section you are in! Ask your TA. If you’re not in a lab – You are “NL”.

If you need some Computer Help:

• If you’re in lab, ask your TA or a fellow student• If you’re in the IBSCORE computer lab, HS 114, ask

the lab monitor. It’s their job to help you. In fact this is a great place to work, if you’re new to computers and need occasional help. They’ll be someone there at your beck and call.

• If you’re at home, or if there’s no lab monitor around, but there is a telephone. Call the CIS HELP DESK: 243-HELP or extension HELP from campus (x4357).

• If you’re way behind on computerskills and need some tutoring – go to your TA for suggestions.

If you’re having trouble with your computer account:

• You should first contact the lab monitors in HS 114. They can help you with your account or a forgotten password. If for some reason they aren’t around or can’t help you contact someone at X6092 or in HS 113.

To insure good service try out your computer account early in the semester and DON’T forget your password!

Help with Printing

• See a lab monitor in HS 114 if you’re having trouble printing

• You have a print quota of 100 FREE pages to start with. In the future you can go to www.ibscore.org/computing and check how many pages you have. (This option is not available yet.)

• If you want to purchase more pages or color pages, go to the IT office, HS 113.
