NUMBER vs. AMOUNT

“he” when describing amounts of something.
KŪMĀ
• 11 – think of it as 10 + 1 even though kūmā doesn’t literally mean “plus.” Kūmā is simply a prefix used in numbers. You may hear people saying kumamā instead of kūmā. Both ways are correct, but kūmā is the more common prefix used today. Note that ʻe is dropped from the “root number” of ʻekahi as shown below:
