MANY THANKS.Over the last year you have been inundated with many of our prayerrequests. We would like to say a big thank you to all those of you who

 journeyed with us in whatever form that may have taken for you,especially in the areas where it impacted our family and Oasis USA. You

may recall the precarious position Oasis USA was in a year ago. Welltoday we have clear initiatives fighting human trafficking across severalcities in the US and various US individuals working across the globe

with Oasis Global. We have been able to financially support other Oasiscountries with thier work and we are developing direct support

services for women escaping from trafficking in Los Angeles.You can read more further down the newsletter or on theorganizational update at our blog site, plus Kevin would also

encourage you to sign up for the Oasis USA updates.

Charys:Teenage life moves along for Charys. She is immersed in school and indeveloping her creative gifts. Currently she is writing songs, scripts andplanning on how to drive these initiatives through to completion. Youshould check out her blog and her you tube channel. http://

www.youtube.com/user/charyspotter; http://8dream-big8.tumblr.com/.The other day she sang one of her original songs to her singing teacher,who has several daughters. The teacher was moved to tears as the lyricsspoke into the journey of one of her daughters. 

 Josh: Josh has completed his time at Mbale with Oasis Uganda and is nowbased at Cherish Uganda, Bulega Village near Entebbe.Dave and the team at Beersheba really looked after Josh and he wasable to immerse himself into the local community and culture, even if hedid have an interesting experience on his trip to Kenya. That’s a piece

 Josh is having a very different, yet just as enjoyable and involvedexperience with Cherish.He says that “If I have any prayer requests it is that my time here is asgood as it can be and that I can really develop a positive relationshipwith the kids that I work, and play with.”

Ben:Life throws out many challengesand interesting situations. Thisyear Ben has had some big ones.One of the bands that he playswith, Skyline Pigeons, has

recently completed a veryprofessionally mixed albumwhich loads of folks like. Thestudio engineer that recordedSkyline Pigeons and who hasrecorded some very well knownbands was impressed with Ben'smusical ability.This has encouraged both himand us. Currently he and theband are looking to film a home

music video at the end of February to go along with thealbum. This’ll involve a road tripup to San Francisco, which initself sounds fun. At the momenthe has a guarantor but alsoneeds to raise some student orpersonal loans for his year longcollege course. In early Januarywe were sitting together in theevening and wondering how we

could raise these resourcesespecially as Ben had a collegepayment due in ten days.

Suddenly he remembered he wasgiven a note that morning. Uponchecking the crumpled piece of paper in his pocket he realizedthat it was a check and that it

meet the majority of his Janpayment. God is amazing. Heimpacts all our lives with bothprovision and care. Just todayBen received his official studentvisa notification.

With all this said we look to thefuture and the adventures tofollow, such as Ben and hisongoing monthly payments.

It seems that it was only ashort while ago that we cameto Pasadena, Ben was off toIndia, Charys & Josh werestarting in school and Linseywas beginning an MA courseat Fuller. Yet here we are andnow it is Josh in Africa,Charys and Ben in schooland Linsey finishing the lastbut one semester of herMasters. In June she willgraduate and move into thenext stage of life.

When we came we were not

sure how we would travelthorough this phase of ourlives, just that we had a senseof it being opened up for usby God. As we come to thecompletion of this phase wethank God for the provisionand support that He hasmiraculously given to usthrough various people andsituations. Oasis USA has

submitted an application forKevin and the family to begranted a green card. If thiscomes through Linsey will be

 joining Kevin in working withOasis USA and at themoment she will be lookingto help mentor and supportthe key Oasis USA leadersand staff who are based inthe country as well as those

who are seconded to otherOasis bodies around theworld.

Thank God for all the provision, protection andstrength we have been given and that hasenabled us to journey through the highs andlows and adventures of the last year. We alsogive thanks for you and your heart for us. Wewant to encourage you that it has not only helped and carried us but it has also impacted

the lives and the communities of the men andwomen we have been able to share the yearwith, in more ways that we could express.Maybe someday we will put the stories in a book

of some sort. We THANK YOU on theirs

and our behalf.

Pray for the next phase of our journey and theapplication of the green card. If it is granted wewill continue to help Oasis USA strengthen itswork amongst those who are impacted by trafficking in the USA and around the world. If itis not granted then we will look to relocate tothe UK and will investigate joining a churchcommunity that wants to have a significantintegrated role in its local city. However, thislatter situation would need great wisdom.

Pray for Linsey and Kevin’s parents. Significanthealth issues invade both families and there is aneed for strength, healing, peace and resourcesto meet the challenges they face.

Continue to pray for Ben after this semester heonly has to complete 4 quarters to finish. Alsoseek wisdom and favor for him and the bands heplays with and that these experiences would

enrich his life and be an investment for hisfuture.

Pray that Josh would find joy, insight andwisdom as he works with the kids in Uganda. Hehas been accepted at NYU Poly to study CivilEngineering. However, he needs the green card if he is going to access scholarships.

Pray that Charys’s hopes and dreams would helpdevelop her in the wisdom of Jesus and that Godwould be her champion and advocate as sheseeks to live out these hopes. We wouldappreciate your prayers for her safety as we are

fully aware of the dangers that are prevalent foryoung women in our current western societies.

Pray for wisdom and peace for Linsey. Whereonce Fuller was an unknown it has now becomea safe place for her and soon she will be steppingaway from it. Pray that she will finish well andwith enjoyment.Pray peace and strength for Kevin. He isphysically very tired but encouraged andhopeful. Many needs invade his mind and pull onhis time, pray there would be an infusion of peace, shalom and energy.

Kevin, as you can glean from the little

that is mentioned at the start of thisnewsletter, it has been in an intense 12 month

 journey with Oasis USA. The year also finishedwell and the Dec matching gift initiative thatOasis USA undertook will help Oasis USA as

it moves through 2012. Theseencouragements are so important as workingdirectly with people who have been traffickedopens you up to some heart wrenching storiesof the destructive evil and greed that is aroundus. Pray especially for “M” who we arepartnering with that she would find peace andhope as she journeys out of the residue of thisbaggage and into an integrated freedom.

Working in this sphere also highlights the

positive nature of how the community of God’s people have a key role in helping menand women as they transition into newopportunities. It also shows how important itis to not allow anything to come in the way of expressing our encouragement and love and inpracticing the action of loving others as welove ourselves. It is desperately important thatwe live out the love of God and allow otherswho have been hurt, abused, deceived andostracized, taste and see how good God is.
