We are located in the noble area of the region, the Port wine cellars bank, in a typical and perfectly framed space. A large enclosure of secular granite that seats 500 guests and with a maximum capacity of 1000 seats for other events (meetings, etc.).

The granite walls remain to tell us their story, but the 1,300 m2 were refurbished in a harmonious combination of three distinct spaces: reception and shop, show area with bar and restaurant area.

AAs a complement to the show, the space provides a visit to Herança Magna’s store, enabling a choice between wines from the region, the best years of production of Port Wines, gourmet products such as the most tasty olive oil and homemade jams and fundamental craft pieces in the tradition of the Douro Region, such as Valentine’s handkerchiefs and earthenware pieces fondly modeled.

Furthermore, aiming at providing the best in both time and space, the Herança Magna Bar allows you to pamper yourself tas-ting Port Wine and enjoying the flavors of small delicacies, while in the company of Live Jazz, listening to classic themes of this prominent musical style.

The walls of the large area of three wings bear references to the roots of a hardworking people, endowed with a deep sacrifice spirit, as tough as granite, as proud as the river and as genuine as the wine that conveyed its name to the world.

THE SPACE

Herança Magna comes to enliven scenarios, destinations and experiences in a conciliation of excellence in the art of hospitality of the people from the North, sharing an historical legacy, traditions and the exciting uniqueness of northern cuisine.

You travel back in time to the Court of King Ramiro, on a timeless medieval intrigue packed with jealousy and passion, thanks to our resident theater company, which embodies one of the oldest legends from this country, well before the Foundation of Nationality. It is an ambitious event through which we seek to conciliate an experience of affection, which is the sharing of a historic heritage and traditions with a dining experience.

YoYou are invited to a trip to discover legends, told in a medieval tone, passing through contemporary moments, where the timeline is tamed with the expertise of professional actors and animators, who will lead the spectators through a holistic experience about the inheritance of the people of the Douro.

We want to evoke the joy of a St. John’s rusga, the unmistakable texture of Port Wine, the sadness of Fado, the dynamics of Folklore and the authenticity of performing arts reliving the legend of King Ramiro.

IIt will not be just a dinner, a show or a wine tasting, but the thoughts and visions of the Douro Region in its multicolor purity as a treasure, like its wine, to be slowly but intensely appreciated.

You are taken to King Ramiro’s Court, to medieval intrigue and timeless jealousy, through our resident theater com-pany, which embodies one of the oldest legends in this land, well before the Foundation of Nationality."Herança Magna" emerged from the intention to promote a cultural region of excellence –Douro. Considering the bet of the Vila Nova de Gaia City Hall in a set of actions which have contributed to the assertion of the municipa-lity in the tourist level, the planning strategy of "Herança Magna" aims at being recognized as a tourist and cultural event for the region. In this guideline, an ambitious event was designed through which it is sought to reconcile the experience of affection, which the sharing of historic heritage and traditions with the dining experience compre-hends.

In order to uplift the tradition of the Douro Region, it is at least cruciall to highlight one of its most emblematic ele-ments: the gastronomy.The people of this region have the traditional food and the art of hospitality as elements of a temple coated by the most delicious aromas and flavours, with gastronomic treasures such as Francesinhas, Tripas à Moda do Porto,

In what concerns moving around, we have set meeting points for tourists, such as hotels or acces-

sible central locations of Oporto or Gaia, enabling tourists to visit us in comfort and safety, both
