C4 Global Communications Herb Alpert’s Vibrato jazz club July highlights Instrumentalists, singers, an accordion player and Frank Stallone FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 18, 2012 Thursday July 19 th 6:30 p.m. New Yorker Judi Silvano debuts at Vibrato on Thursday, accompanied by a trio of Theo Saunders, piano, Pat Senatore, bass, and Kendall Kay, drums. Silvano has recorded 10 albums to date, including “Indigo Moods”, released this month. Jazz Times says of the album: “Silvano leaves delicacy and coyness to lesser songbirds, tackling these tunes with the might and finesse of a world-class boxer.” In 2007, MIT commissioned “No Beginning, No End” – a challenging score written for Silvano and saxophonist Joe Lovano, which received excellent reviews upon its release. In addition to singing alongside notable jazz musicians (including Lovano, Kenny Werner, Paul Motian and Charlie Haden, to name a few), Silvano is also a composer, arranger, producer and educator. http://judisilvano.com/ Thursday July 26 th 6:30 p.m. Frank Petrilli is a student of renowned jazz accordionist Frank Marocco. Inspired by his father, Petrilli learned to play the accordion at a young age but put his instrument aside in his late twenties to cultivate his business and family. In 2006, Petrilli was inspired to pick up the accordion again and had the opportunity to learn under his idol, Marocco. Petrilli and Marocco performed as “Frank and Frank” at the annual Frank Marocco Accordion Event until Marocco’s death in March. Petrilli has been busy this year: performing, judging and hosting workshops at the Kiev Accordion Festival in Ukraine this spring; performing and recording a CD in Italy; and is a featured performer at the American Accordionists’ Association Festival in Baltimore, MD this month. At Vibrato, he will be accompanied by John Chiodini, guitar, Pat Senatore, bass, and Enzo Tedesco, drums.

Tuesday July 24th 8:30 p.m. $20 cover A Grammy and Golden Globe nominated artist, Frank Stallone sings and plays guitar across the globe. On July 24 at 8:30 p.m., Vibrato will host the composer of “Far From Over,” the hit single from 1983’s film “Staying Alive.” That soundtrack earned Stallone a Grammy nod and “Far From Over” scored a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song. Known for his American Songbook style, Stallone will perform hits from movies, blues favorites and romantic melodies. “I wanted to be a musician and singer from the very first time I opened my mouth,” recalls Stallone, “I have never for a moment been derailed from that ambition.” In addition to the ten albums he has released, most recently 2010’s “Let Me Be Frank With You,” Stallone has composed and recorded music for 11 films, including the first three installments of the “Rocky” series and “Rambo II.” New York Daily News says that Stallone’s performance “has the crowd enthralled.” http://www.frankstallone.com/
