If Christ had never been raised, our faith would be futile; we would be found guilty in our sin. The resurrection is the victorious and glorious victory for every believer. Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). And He is coming again! The dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who are alive at His coming will be changed and receive new, glorified bodies (1Thessalonians 4:1318). Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ im- portant? It proves who Jesus is. It demonstrates that God accepted Jesussacrifice on our behalf. And it guarantees that the bodies of those who believe in Christ will not remain dead but will be resurrected unto eternal life. Ultimately Jesus` resurrection defeated sin, the devil, and death itself! Easter is almost here! The dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who are alive at His coming will be changed and receive new, glorified bodies (1Thessalonians 4:13–18).

Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ im-portant? It proves who Jesus is. It demonstrates that God accepted Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf. And it guarantees that the bodies of those who believe in Christ will not remain dead but will be resurrected unto eternal life. Ultimately Jesus` resurrection defeated sin, the devil, and death itself!

Easter is almost here! Tomorrow we once again declare “He is Risen, He is Risen indeed, Hallelujah!”

And yet on that glorious day when Jesus returns, what incredible joy it will be to shout and sing :

“HERE COMES THE SON!” In HIS grace, Lynda

Jeff’s brother Martin shared a wonderful story with me this week. He read in the news about how a hospital in New York are calling out a “Code Sun” when it is time for a COVID-19 patient to be taken off of a ventilator or dis-charged. And then they play the Beatles song “Here Comes The Sun” over the speakers. I found some information about this and discov-ered that several hospitals in New York are doing this! What a wonderful way to restore hope to everyone in the hospital! We applaud all of you amazing people on the frontlines of this pandemic we are all living through and couldn’t be more grateful for your service.

Today is the day after Good Friday and the day before Easter. Some churches call this “Holy Saturday”. Normally this is the day that our church sponsors a huge Easter egg hunt with over 800 kids in our town. Not this year. All of the Easter festivities have been canceled for us. No Easter egg hunts, church services together, or Easter dinners with family and friends. This year the Saturday before Easter could have a sense of gloom and despair.

Indeed, without the resurrection of Christ, we would have no hope! The manger and the cross would be for nothing without the resurrection!

Here Comes The Son!
