• Hershey left his fortune to the School, which has been in existence for more than 100 years.

• Controlling interest of The Hershey Company is held by the Hershey Trust which funds the School.

• Today, the Milton Hershey School, serves 1,800 children from across the country, providing a home, food, clothing, medical care, and a quality education at no cost.

HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games is the longest-running youth activity program of its kind in North America, building skills for kids ages 9-14 to enjoy a lifetime of activity.

 The program celebrates a 35 year legacy of The Hershey Company’s commitment to well-being, volunteerism and stewardship.

• Boys and Girls ages 9-14 (age as of December 31 in current year)

• Participants can compete in three events at the local, district, and state/provincial/territorial levels (two running and one field, or two field and one running)

Access Our Online Event Manager Program • Register as a Local Coordinator in the online event

manager program and post your event information. Event Manager is filled with helpful information and materials to make hosting an event easy.

Gather Equipment • To help new local organizers get started, HERSHEY’®S

Track & Field Games provides all you need to run a successful event—softballs, measuring tapes, batons and stopwatches. Available while supplies last.

Recruit Volunteers • The number of volunteers will depend on the size of

your event. Designate a volunteer coordinator to maximize volunteer time and talents.

1. Make it fun for the kids, volunteers, and you! 2. Don’t wait until the last minute to round up

volunteers. 3. Each participant must register by completing

a Local Entry Form (available online). 4. Consider local donations/sponsors to provide

ribbons, medals, or t-shirts. 5. Template certificates and flyers are available

in online event manager tools. 6. Organize some family games for parents and

siblings to Run, Jump & Throw during the event.
