Hey Norm – why so glum?
Oh the usual – the weather, the economy, the environment ... and
now a trip to the vet!
Well, you don’t need to worry about the last one – this vet practice has been accredited by
the RCVS!
The what?
The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
They regulate vets and vet nurses, and they also run the Practice Standards Scheme.
And that helps me
how, exactly?
Well, Norm, to get accredited,
this practice has had to
meet stringent standards...
OK,OK, I’m listening – keep
your ears on
...in things like hygiene, staff training, equipment, facilities and out-of-hours emergency cover.
And that’s a good thing?
Of course it’s a good thing, Norm! They’ve
had to work hard to get their
accreditation...
Keep talking
...which shows they’re committed to looking after you as
best they can.
That doesn’t sound so bad...
So I needn’t be so worried?
The RCVS inspects this practice every four years, and can carry out a spot inspection
at any time.
No, Norm, the Practice Standards Scheme aims
to promote and maintain the highest standards of
veterinary care...
...and the RCVS Inspector checks out the whole practice.
That is good news!
Just watch out for the
thermometer...
