He graduated from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in 1914, then joined the staff of the Royal College in the same year as a demonstrator in bacteriology. In 1920, he was promoted to Professor of Dental Pathology and Periodontology, aad in. 1927 received his present appointment as Research Professor of Periodontology in the Faculty of dentistry, University of Toionto. He received his Ph.D. in 1920. In the.period of 1920-1948, he has written 46 papers for dental journals, aid has contributed 12 bulletins and 2 monographs. on May 10, 1948, he was awarded the Jarvie Fellowship Gold Medal, given annually by the Dental Society of the State of ^ew York for outstanding contribution to original research or for the one whose high attainment and professional career has been of such a character as to have materially advanced the science and art of dentistry. In. June, 1948, he was awarded a Fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons, of Engalnd. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society, the American Academy of Periodontology, and a member of the Ontario Dental Association. He was Hon^ary Consultant to the Bept. of Health in Oral Hygiene for the Province of w ntario.
