FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Compared to a conventional profilingbed (A), the Pro-Contour AdvanceProfiling on the four-section Minuet 2beds raises the pivot point of thebackrest and thigh section closer to theclient’s natural pivot point (their hipjoint) (B). It mimics the way a person’stissues stretch as they move from lyingto sitting and reduces compression onthe mattress surface at the seatsection.

This offers major benefits overconventional profiling beds:

• Enhanced pressure, shear andfriction reduction

• Excellent postural support

• Exceptional comfort

To prevent the client from sliding downthe bed, on descent the knee-breakstays raised until the backrest is at thesame angle (1).

Both the backrest and knee-breakthen descend together until they reacha flat position simultaneously (2).

This is unique – on other beds theknee-break descends regardless ofbackrest angle, which can result in theclient sliding down the bed.

The intelligent profiling systemmaximises comfort, improves posturalsupport and helps to reduce pressure,shear and friction. This can help toreduce the risk of pressure ulcers.

It also reduces moving and handlingrisks for the carer as the client is lesslikely to slide down the bed.

Integral bed extension

To cater for taller clients, all the beds have an integratedmattress platform extension of 130mm. This is easily engagedand offers maximum flexibility. Full profiling of the calf sectionis achieved even when the bed is extended, enhancingcomfort for the client.

Low height 230mm (9") for enhanced safety

The exceptional low heightof the Minuet 2 beds offersmajor benefits:

• Easier client transfers –the low height allows thesmallest of clients totransfer safely, and alsoenables downwardtransfer onto the bedfrom wheelchairs, chairsetc.

• Enhanced safety –for clients who are at riskof falling out of bed andthe use of safety sides isnot appropriate, the bedcan be left at its lowestheight.

Reduced moving and handling risks

The fully electric operation of the bedaids client independence and reducesmoving and handling risks to thecarer. All of the handset buttons areraised and embossed for ease oflocation and use.
