The facility is located on the north bank of the River Tees, 2

Description
The facility was part of the Haverton Hill shipyard.
The 160m quayside can be dredged to maintain a berth
depth of 3.8m at the Lowest Astronomical Tide conditions.
The mainly granite quayside houses 7 mooring bollards and 2
heavy duty bollards, set back 20m, for mooring high
structures.
The one acre associate land forms a regular shape, parallel to
the quay.
A service duct runs the quay length for the provision of
utilities.
The facility is at the centre of the new industrial estate.

Tenure
The property is held by way of 999 year lease from the 10th
October 1996 at an annual peppercorn (nil) rental with no
rent reviews. (A virtual freehold interest).

the region of £300’000.
For Lease: The facility is available for lease at £20’000 per
annum. Lease duration to be agreed.

The facility is located in a prime position on the River Tees
and has excellent transport links.
The facility can be seen with three vessels berthed side by
side.
The Facility

Site History
The facility formed part of the Haverton Hill Shipyard fitting out berth and was used to add the main engines and super
structures to the vessels after launch.
Since then the facility has been used for the following:
LAYBY BERTH: As per the illustration (above right), the facility was used by ARC Marine Limited and Westminster
Dredging Limited for long term lay up of various vessels over a 7 year period.
CABLE LAYING BERTH: Used as a base by Land & Marine to support their cable laying barge ‘Baldwin’. The facility also
served for storage and to enable maintenance of subsea ploughs and equipment.
HEAVY LOADOUT BERTH: Used to load out Schehallion oil field clump weights to ‘MV Northern Explorer’ by Northern
Ocean Services Limited.
SHIP REPAIR: Regularly used to carry out repairs and modifications by River Tees Engineering and Welding Limited
