The reason there is an uncollected tax of $1,810.98
on December 31, 1945, is because of the new State lawrequiring towns to close their books on December 31st,
instead of on January 31st, as has been done in prior
years.
The following is the Tax Collector's report of all
taxes collected by him for the year 1945

REPORT OF HEALTH OFFICER
There have been no serious epidemics during thepast year. Mumps and influenza were quite prevalentduring the month of December.
Influenza vaccine, v^hich was perfected during thewar and used entirely for the Armed Forces, has beenreleased for general use. This should lessen thepossibility of an influenza epidemic this coming year.
One innoculation taken during the fall monthswould confer an immunity to the disease for at least
three months and possibly longer. The exact durationof immunity is not known.
There were no cases of undulant fever reportedthis past year. However, I hope we shall eventuallyhave pasteurized milk.
Respectfully submitted,MERTRUDE D. NORRIS, M. D.
