The HISA is the peak body for e-health in Australia.
HISA runs an annual HIC Conference.
HIC brings together a broad cross section of organisations and people working and interested in e-health including clinicians, administrators, innovators, researchers and health IT professionals.

• US-based e-Patient Dave appeared with his physician Dr Danny Sandsthe co-founder of the Participatory Health movement which seeks to include the patient in the decision making process through shared information.
• Patient artist and advocate Regina Holliday returned to HIC to talk about the power of people. The Walking Gallery continues to grow and tell individual stories.
• Melbourne-based Stephen Damianiwho worked with a geneticist to solve his son’s mystery condition appeared for the Mission Massimo Foundation.
The Hungarian medical futurist and social media expert Dr Bertalan Mesko spoke on the digital future of medicine – where is it all going.
Teenage US cancer researcher Jack Andraka winner of the Gordon E. Moore Award at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair discovered a way for smarter and more cost effective early detection of pancreatic cancer and advocated for innovation and Open Data in health.
Aged Care Informatics Conference – case studies, research and evidence to support safe and effective use of e-health in the aged care sector.
Digital Healthcare Design Conference – looked at sustainability and healthcare reform at the regional, hospital and care provider level and the interaction between these levels.
Nursing Informatics Conference – highlighted the role of nurses in powering e-health adoption and improving patient care. From social media for nurses, new work tools and living with the electronic age for nursing.
Indigenous Informatics Conference – updates and practical examples of telehealth and e-health for Aboriginal communities.
Participatory Health Conference – patient participation in their healthcare in four sub-streams. International advocate e-Patient Dave was a keynote speaker at this event.
PCeHR Consultation - The Federal Health Department held a consultation workshop on PCeHR.
Over 40 General Practitioners took part in a workshop led by e-health expert Dr Nathan Pinskier, where they looked at the design of their current GP practices buildings, office design and IT set-up.
Workshop for the emerging healthcare start-up community, participants looked at specific paint points and opportunities for the health sector.
Tony Jones Q&A Panel – explored policy issues of investing in e-health.
Gala Dinner at the Regent Cinema
