HA Coaches Participate in the High Ability (HA) student

identification process, assessing new students and designing educational programming to help them meet Indiana’s Academic Standards.

Work with teachers at their request to assist in differentiating instruction in core subject areas for identified HA students in the regular classroom.

Consult with classroom teachers, providing assistance with enrichment activities in the regular classroom for identified HA students.

Provide information to teachers regarding scientifically-based reading research for HA students in a continual quest for improvement of instruction.

HA Coaches (continued)

Work with the principal to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the School Improvement Plan as it relates to HA.

Assist with the purchasing and organization of HA materials. Create and maintain on-going parental involvement

regarding the HA program in the school. Maintain records for identified HA students as required. Attend workshops and conferences that are related to High

Ability education. Exercise good judgment in handling confidential

information and correspondence. Perform such other duties for identified HA students and

their teachers as may be assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
