High Holidays
2020 5781
Congregation
Brothers of Israel
This year High Holiday services will be on-line via Zoom. There will be Rosh Hashanah Services Friday,
September 18th, Saturday, September 19th, and Sunday, September 20th. Kol Nidre Services Sunday,
September 27th, and Yom Kippur Services, Monday, September 28th.
For simplification for those who are not familiar with Zoom, I am going to compare Zoom to TV service,
and links to different TV channels.
There will be 4 channels (links), you can watch. The 4 channels will be airing at the same time. It is your
choice as to what you want to ‘watch’, but can change the channel (link), if you wish to try a different
program.
The first channel will be airing the The Sanctuary Service in the sanctuary. Rabbi Aaron Gaber, and Cantor
Ingrid Barnett will be leading these services. The second channel will be H. H. Interest Groups, these are
roughly 30 minute learning classes, taught by different leaders. The third channel will be Reflect,
Celebrate, Pray & Play, these are also 30 minute learning classes taught through fun and games, geared to
our youth. The fourth and last channel is The Lobby. The Lobby is similar to a chat room. It is where you
can go to meet up with fellow CBOI Members, talk and get caught up.
The following pages will have a TV Guide, listing all of the programs for the day for the 4 different
channels, along with a description of the different shows (classes). Again, it is your choice as to what you
wish to watch, as you will have the ability to change channels.
Before continuing there are a few things you must do first. Please do not wait until High Holidays, get
started now. If you have any questions you can contact Sharon Segarra at 215 579-2200 or
Your computer must have a camera and audio setup to see and hear all that is going on.
You can also login with a smartphone, where you can hear and see. If you do not have either a computer or smartphone, you will be able to use your phone and call in to hear everything happening.
Make sure you download Zoom to your computer or smartphone. When it comes time to name yourself,
please use your full first and last names so we can see who is logged on. We will be monitoring the users
at all times, to try and prevent any Zoom-bombing.
Each channel will be monitored and moderated by a trained CBOI individual. If you have any issues getting
into one of the channels, or have any questions before or during the holiday services you can contact
Sharon Segarra at [email protected] or 215 579-2200 (synagogue office) or 267 229-5997 (mobile).
Please try and use the synagogue number first.
