DWS Additive Manufacturing

DWS, Digital Wax Systems, was found in Vicenza in 2007, drawn on a long-consolidated experience in prototyping.DWS develops hi-tech solutions for prototyping and high-speed production, with the aim of reducing development times for new products and, as a consequence, time to market. These systems have become must-haves and strategic resources for corporate competitiveness. The goal of DWS is to innovate processes, to make production faster and more flexible.

DWS is the only Italian company today capable of developing systems for prototyping and rapid production by implementing stereolithography technology, with in-house manufacture of all the necessary resins and materials. It exports 80% of its production to over 60 countries around the world and is divided into four business units: jewellery, dental applications, general applications and prosumer market applications as well.

The advantages that qualify DWS as an excellence can be summarised as follows:• the use of in-house developed and a new-generation of photosensitive resins and materials• the innovative BluEdge® Laser System• dedicated 3D editing and manufacturing softwares Nauta®+ and Fictor®

Building Process

DigitalWax® D: Additive Manufacturing Systems for Digital Dentistry

Due to their reduced moving parts and unique user-friendliness, DigitalWax® machines are characterised by high reliability and low maintenance costs. The high accuracy perfectly combines with the great production versatility of the systems, thanks to the absence of pre-heating and calibration and thanks to the quick and easy material change that occurs by changing the transparent tray containing the material and through which the light source passes. The range includes 5 rapid production systems, suitable for the requirements of all dental laboratories and the most innovative clinics, both focused in customers’ satisfaction, cost reduction and production speed. The machines are controlled by a dedicated software that is perfectly compatible with mostly used in the dental field CAD/CAM solutions and, according to the model, they allow the operator to produce from a minimum of 15 up to a maximum of 4.100 items per day.All DWS 3D printers, except DW009D model, are equipped with BluEdge® 3B Class laser source, created by DWS Research & Development centre. It emits ultraviolet rays that solidify the photosensitive material layer by layer. By means of a vertical positioning device, the modelling platform base rises up for a measure corresponding to the thickness of the solidified layer till the completion of the job. These motion capabilities, together with a synchronised laser, allow the creation of exceptionally complex and precise three-dimensional prototypes. These innovations, in comparison to conventional techniques, make the whole process more flexible and more economical, especially in terms of material consumption and allow the achievement of the maximum results in terms of high definition and resolution.

allows high accuracy and high productivity. It

Thanks to a wide production capacity, DigitalWax® 009D is an entry-level with no compromise in terms of performance.DigitalWax® 009D is the most economic machine among DigitalWax® products and it allows the highest accuracy and resolution thanks to the DLP® display technology developed by Texas Instruments®.High speed and low running cost together with accuracy and resolution are the essential features of this new DWS product. High Performance Production System

DigitalWax® 029D is an additive manufacturing system conceived for medium production volu-mes, suitable for considerable quantities of castable patterns. The wide working area means DigitalWax® 029D is suitable for the production of medium quantities of orthodontic models and gypsum-like models from intraoral scanners.

TTT System (Tank Translation Technology) consists of an electromechanical device that automatically shifts the resin tank during the growing of the model: it reduces localized wear of the tank caused by laser beam irradiation through the same area; thanks to this innovation, the life of the tank is significally prolonged, making the modelling process more efficient and running costs considerably restrained.

TEMPORIS® is a Class IIA certified biocompatible material for the fabrication of long-term temporary crowns and bridges. In order to meet esthetic and functional requirements, TEMPORIS® materials are available in different shades and they can be trimmed, shaped and polished. UV Curing Units

UV Curing Units

The UV Curing Unit devices concurs the secondary solidification of the models built by the DigitalWax® systems. Though models are already perfectly formed after production, they need an additional exposure to a specific UV light source, so to complete the polimerization and stabilization of their structure. “S2” UV Curing Unit model is usually suggested for DigitalWax® 009D, DigitalWax® 020D and DigitalWax® 028D, while “M” model is more suitable for DigitalWax® 029D because it can contain an entire platform. “L” model is specifically designed to seat the large platform of DigitalWax® 030D.
