Welcome to the 2016 High Tech Beef Bull Sale!

I would like to thank you in advance for taking some time to study the bulls and their ped-igrees on the next few pages of this sale catalog. I believe the quality of this offering is better and deeper than any before here at High Tech Beef.

Over the last few years we have seen all time record highs in the cattle market which has brought new money and some speculation into this industry. However, the last nine months we have witnessed an adjustment in the market which was more than likely needed.

For more than three decades now High Tech Beef has evolved with the belief that we don’t have to be the largest bull supplier within the United States - we simply strive to bring some of the best within the Angus breed to our customers. Time has shown us that quality is the driving force in this industry, and now it is probably more important than ever to add a high quality herdsire to your line up.

With shifting markets, the cattle business could become more challenging in the next few years. This is why I believe it is critical for a commercial breeder to adjust his inputs, keep a close eye on efficiency, and to strive to increase quality in your calf crop. Buyers will always be attracted to high quality, efficient stock that performs well and has the correct structure for longevity.

Thank you for your interest and for attending our annual spring production sale the last five years. It is hard to believe this is already the fifth spring sale. As the years roll by, Sharon and I find ourselves busier than we have ever been. Four teenage kids scatter in the wind, and there is no way to keep up with all of that.

With the heavy load of scanning several thousand bulls in the spring, Sharon working in town, and calving more cows than ever before, we have made the decision to move our annual production sale to fall. We are thinking around mid November. This will allow our customers to pick bulls for their fall herds, and develop them for spring breeding season, as well.

We are planning our first fall event for this November. There will be a select set of bulls, as well as spring bred females, fall pairs, and a select group of calves that could be shown. So make plans now to be on hand around mid November for some good food, fellowship, and some outstanding Angus cattle.
