The Client:P.C. Patel Infra Pvt. Ltd. is a leading supplier of contract mining services to clients in the infrastructure development sector in India. The services offered have changed significantly over the last decade due to factors such as computing technology, globalization, economic reforms, information technologies and environmental considerations.

The Challenge:Since their operations comprise a lot of material and equipment movements, keeping inventory of varied type of spares and ensuring receipts and issues of spares with minimum errors was a huge challenge. Similarly, monitoring tracking and planning for the maintenance of various equipment was getting cumbersome.

Our Solution:Highbar identified specific functionalities of inventory and spares management in SAP that would be useful to address the client’s challenges and also offered insights on advantages and limitations of different approaches that can be used. SAP plant maintenance and inventory management modules, were implemented to address the stated challenges of in the client organization.

The Client:Rithwik Projects Pvt. Ltd., an integrated construction, infrastructure development and management company in India.

The challenge:The client was looking for a full SAP implementation with:a. Subcontractor billingb. Location-wise and consolidated balance sheets c. Product costingd. Stock and inventory tallye. Equipment utilization reporting and other features.

Our solution:1. Highbar’s SAP solution was implemented with main features of

subcontracting, billing, customizing for running account, and bill processing.

2. By using MM & FI modules the stock information uploaded by physical verification and the value could be tallied in the inventory GL accounts based on the moving average price.

3. Log entry customization was done, with detailed utilization and generation of performance reports.

The Client: Chetak Enterprises Limited (CEL), is a leading player engaged in the development of National and State Highways across India and Africa.

The challenge: 1. Legacy systems in the organization were making it difficult to

upgrade to faster and real time estimation and progress

2. The stock inventory system, invoicing, accounting was done either by historical methods, or manually.

3. Such a complex system caused frequent errors in record keeping, check on consumptions, payroll processing and frequent breakdowns.

Our solution: 1. Highbar conducted a detailed study of all the requirements and

suggested a comprehensive SAP implementation.

2. The new implementation covered cost estimations, progress reports, automated invoicing modules, project wise profitability reports, and a complete system-based linkage with the various departments

3. Automated control for expenditures, material reconciliation and tracking has resulted in decrease in wastage.

An article titled “Precise estimation is the key for successful project execution” written by Mr. Ashok Wani (Head of Technology & Innovation at Highbar Technocrat Limited) was published in the June 2019 edition of EPC World.

Mr. Wani expressed his views on the need of robust tender estimation software solution with regards to the dynamic nature of the construction industry. He explains the various benefits of such software that can help project managers to bid and execute the projects, saving time and operational expenditure.

Trees are our life. They provide oxygen, shelter and food; and of course help increase rainfall.

At Highbar, we understand the importance of growing more trees and are contributing in our own way in combating global warming.

We took up the initiative of “Grow More Trees” in conjunction with our CSR partner Sampark. The Highbar team headed by Mr. Vijay Patil visited Bhabarde village in Lonavala for a day filled with nature, trees, plants and rivulets.

We planted around 1,000 trees along with local school students and volunteers. The afternoon was reserved for a friendly cricket match with the school students, it was an indeed a thrilling match. The enthusiastic school students defeated us by 5 runs.
