Students were enamored by what they heard and saw. They spoke animatedly

and were eager to know more. They examined the exhibits and looked really

impressed. It was as if they were transported to another unknown world.

It was clearly a unique experience for the young DIPSITES of DPS Kolar as

they learnt and appreciated what our culture, past and present, means.

5.08.2019 The most beautiful thing in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They

must be felt with the heart, like stories.

They opened the heart, like stories.

They opened the doors to imagination

and ideas woven together with love and

emotions. Reading and sharing stories

were help us to develop the early

literacy skills and stimulate curiosity.

Therefore story telling session was

conducted at DPS Kolar on 5th

August 2019, for classes 4 and 5 by Ms Ayushi

Mathur, certified story teller from Kathalaya. She conducted this session by

narrating stories which were based on moral values. Children enjoyed and

responded to the stories . She emphasized on voice modulation, gestures and

body language. Children participated in this session whole heartedly.

―Forgive others not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve

peace‖

An assembly on the topic ―Hiroshima

Peace & Forgiveness Day‖ was

conducted by the students of class II-A.

A beautiful thought on Peace Day was

followed with a glance of the Hiroshima

and Nagasakhi disaster. A moment of

silence was observed to pay homage to

all the victims. A role- play was enacted by a student on a little girl named

Sadako Sasaki, a survivor of the bombing. The students took a step forward to

spread peace by a silent peace walk displaying various placards such as Peace

is Patriotic and Peace begins with a smile. Overall, it was a special effort taken

by the students to advocate peace and emphasised the need to set up peace
