Cricket no. 1 in Child resistance systemsChild resistance (CR) - What is Child resistance?

A lighter is certified as child resistant when out of a

panel of one hundred children between three and a

half and four and a half years old, not more than ten

children are able to operate the lighter.

As you know, since March 11th 2008, all lighters sold

to consumers in EU countries must be compliant with

new CR- compliance legislation, outlined in European

Standard EN13869. Not only can you be sure that your

Cricket CR lighters comply fully with this legislation,

consumer research has shown that our Original lighters

are the most user-friendly and comfortable to use!

Our new consumer website dedicated to

younger Cricket consumers has already

proved to be a success. Appealing to all

Internet fans, it provides an interactive

link to their favourite lighter brand.

Available in English, French, Russian and

Chinese, the site is reinforcing brand

awareness and loyalty in our strongest

and fastest-growing markets. There’s a

section telling them all about the most

important dates in Cricket’s history to

date, and another explaining all the

unique safety features of our lighters.

There’s plenty of space for fun of course,

with the ’Bombers’, ’Break-out’ and

’Memory’ games, and e-card, wall-

paper and avatars to download in the

’Goodies’ section.

New features are planned for 2009.
