Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart

We are looking forward to our annual Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart events which will take place on Monday, May 9th. Students are encouraged to ask parents, relatives and well known neighbours to sponsor them for this Heart and Stroke Foundation fundraising event. Door-to-door canvassing is inappropriate and should not take place. Shortly, all students will bring home envelopes with detailed instructions. Please let us know if you do not receive the package. We have a great reputation at Highview P.S. for our tremendous support of the Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart program. We look forward to upholding the tradition!

The Sports Report We are looking forward to our Hoops For Heart tournament which will take place in conjunction with our Jump Rope for Heart Event on May 9th. The Junior Girls’ and Boys’ Basket-ball Teams both represented the school very well in our recent Area Tournaments. The Intermediate Badminton team is practising hard in preparation for the Area Tournament on May 10th. Grade 7 House League badminton games take place on Thursdays at lunch.

Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they are worthless but because they are priceless. Author Unknown

This year we would like to thank our volun-teers at a special breakfast which will take place on Wednesday, June 8th from 7:30 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. in the staffroom. If you have volunteered in any capacity this year, please come and join us. We appreciate all the jobs you do including: escorting groups on field trips; organizing and handing out pizza and pitas; being part of the School Council; reading with our students… the list goes on and on. We will not be sending out personal-ized invitations this year, please know that you are welcome.

Thank You to Our Volunteers
