  • Hillside Family of Agencies (HFA)

    • Hillside Family of Agencies (HFA) provides individualized health, education, and human services in partnership with children, youth, adults, and their families through an integrated system of care. • Affiliates: Hillside Children’s Center, Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, Snell Farm

    Children’s Center, Stillwater Children’s Center, Hillside Children’s Foundation

    • Provides more than 120 services in over 40 locations (based in New York State) • Serves approximately 13,000 youth, adults, and families annually • Employs approximately 2,500 staff

  • Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection (HW-SC)

    • Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection (HW-SC) is a youth development program that provides a holistic support network for middle and high school students to help them perform to their academic potential and complete their high school education.

    • HW-SC has been in operations for 30 years and has expanded to multiple regions throughout New York State and Maryland.

    • Public/Private Partnership • Serves ≈ 4,000 students who are at-risk for dropping out (grades 7-12)• Data-driven program with a heavy emphasis on tracking and measurement

    processes • Utilizes a predictive analytics model for targeted recruitment (what works best

    for whom)

    • Youth Advocates (YA’s) encourage students to perform to their fullest potential in and out of school, coordinate and link them to the support they need. Case management processes include: • Recruiting: Targeted engagement and enrollment• Assessing: Identify needs, resources, assets, and services• Planning: Build a plan based on needs assessment- formulate goals

    through the use of an Individualized Graduation Plan (IGP)• Connecting to and Facilitating Services: Link to and advocate for

    academic, workforce, and social supports/services• Monitoring: Track plan and goal progress• Evaluating: Evaluate impact of services on meeting goals and outcomes • Reviewing: Address ongoing issues

    • Graduation • 93% of HW-SC students who stick with our program graduate from high school• 96% of our students employed with job partners graduate from high school• Since the program’s inception, over 5,000 young people have graduated from our urban high

    schools and become productive citizens in the communities

    • College and Career • Improved Local Economies: Nearly 500 HW-SC students are employed in part-time year-round

    jobs. These students are generating over $3 million dollars in their communities annually• For each $3,500 investment that we make in a youth, an employed graduate saves the community

    $22,500 in social services. What’s more, these students are investing their annual earnings of $6,250 back into our communities

    • ROI = For every $1 invested, HW-SC creates $4.75 in social benefits
