Rakesh Upadhyay Principal "Navratri Garba Celebration" at Himalaya International School: To condition the mind to a set pattern that is conductive to growth HIS celebrated Navratri (symbolizing victory of positivity over negativity) in the form of "Ethnic Day" with great joy and vigour. The students of grade Nur. to V and teachers came dressed in traditional Garba and Dandiya attire which was made for a spectacular visual treat for everyone to see and relish.The Celebration started with Ravan Dahan in the school premises. The positivity and energy exhilarating out of the colorful costumes combined with the enthusiasm of dancing on the Dandiya folk songs made the entire day extremely successful and fruitful. The children's joy knew no bounds and for some it was definitely an experience of a life time. The icing on the cake for the children was when Honorable Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay and Respected Incharge Mrs. Rashmi Sharma joined in the festivities. It was a colorful show because teachers also joined enthusiastically in their dance. We wish all our students and their loved ones a very Happy and Prosperous Festive Season. The celebration of Diwali,'The festival of lights' came alive at Himalaya International School, Ratlam when today the whole school wore a festive look with Diyas, Flowers and colours adorning the corridors. House activities such as Rangoli Making and Festive Look Decoration Competitions were part of the celebrations. For classes VI to VIII students Diya Decoration competition was organized. “HIS OBSERVES HINDI WEEK” Himalaya International School is observing 'HINDI WEEK' from 11th to 14th September, in order to promote Hindi language and to invoke the importance of Hindi language as our mother tongue. Senior students of class VIII (Mars) presented the inaugural assembly wherein a skit based on 5 elements of nature (water, air, fire, earth and sky) was enacted, through this a message was delivered to conserve nature. Director Mr. Sunil Dora, Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay and School staff was present. HIS Ratlam is observing 'INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY' Today on 11th October 2017 students of Yamuna house presented a special assembly on 'Empowering Girl Child'. TIARA MAKING COMPETITION' was conducted for senior girls, wherein all the pretty girls made Tiaras from natural owers and leaves. The competition ended with the result declaration by The Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay. Places near our neighbourhood is one of the parts of the curriculum of Pre-Primary Kids, so as to provide them the real insight of working procedure of shopping mall, Himalaya International School, Ratlam organised a field trip to " ", a local market CHOUPAL SAGAR place, where the tiny tots, learned purchasing and enjoyed a lot. They also modified their knowledge based on personal experience. "DEEPKALA" art exhibition in HIS Art & Craft department of HIS Ratlam Exhibited art and craft antiques made by students on the day of P.T.M i.e 7th October which was highly appreciated by parents. The exhibition was organised by the talented department members Mrs. Vinita Jain and Ms. Apurva Joshi. Excursion Tour Three days Excursion Tour was organised by Himalaya International School, Ratlam to Udaipur and Chittorgarh: Himalaya International School organised an Excursion tour for the students of grade 4th, 5th and 6th. 76 students packed their bags to face the best experience of their life from 3rd October to 5th October. It was a fun filled tour away from school and home, where students had an opportunity to learn in a totally different environment. They learnt to look after themselves and their belongings away from the supervision of their parents. They learnt to adjust themselves in the company of their colleagues and friends. Students had a taste of History with a panoramic view of Fort Chittorgarh Udaipur, City Palace, Hall of Heroes Museum, Pratap Smarak . Guides gave informations about the history behind them. They also enjoyed a lot to visit Saheliyon Ki Bari and Puppet Show. Not only the kids immensely enjoyed seeing the different historical sites but they also learned about their history. The D.J party on the last night at Udaipur was full of dancing which helped to reduce their tiredness. On 5th morning bags were packed with heavy hearts, no one was willing to leave. Our last destination was the Temple of Sanwariya Seth. We reached back at around 4:30 pm and had a wonder fu l dreams about the 2017 educational tour. The trip was well planned and executed. All the tour in-charge, teachers and students are very much thankful to the directors and Principal Sir for providing this wonderful opportunity to interaction an informal environment, much to the pleasure of both.

Food without Fire Activity (21.07.2017)The students of HIS participated in Food without Fire activity organized in the school premises. The students of primary wing participated in the activity with enthusiasm and prepared different Bhels, Salads, Sandwiches, Dahi papdi Chat, Buiscuit Roll, Petha Burfi, Soft Drinks, Raita etc. The display of food items depicted their aesthetic sense. The little chefs had experimented with various soft drinks and fruits to give it a personalized and a totally different taste and fireless cooking turned out to be an entertaining group endeavour. The Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay congratulated the par t ic ipants for the i r wonder fu l performance.

Poem Recitation (22.07.2017)Tiny tots of Nursery and LKG participated with enthusiasm and zeal in Poem Recitation Competition held on Saturday. As we all know, poem is meant for enjoyment. Beauty is the realm of the poetry; the children enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The competition was conducted successfully.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books of choice, right into our school. Himalaya International School organised a book fair from 16th November 2017 to 18th November 2017. It was a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay along with school Librarian Mr. Virendra Soni opened the book fair for children. In his inaugural speech Principal Rakesh Upadhyay explained the importance of reading that it is pleasure, which has the power to unlock the world of Information and imagination to help the children know who they are.

Patriotic Song CompetitionMusic ign i tes a l l a reas of ch i ld development: intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Patriotic songs are songs that demonstrate love for one's country or have theme that glorify self-sacrifice, land's beauty, history or ideals.Music is beneficial for children as it not only develops their aesthetic sense, but is also the key to creativity. It is one of the most beloved human experiences and plays an important role in the education of a child by providing it an opportunity of self-expression. A 'Patriotic Song Competition' was organized in junior wing on 5th August 2017 to expose our children to music, while also enhancing their language and presentation skills. The upper hall was filled with children b r imming w i t h en thus i asm and eagerness to showcase their talent. The student from class I to III participated in the Patriotic Song competition and Grade IV and V had participated in Rakhi Making Compet i t ion wi th great zeal and enthusiasm. They prepared well for the competition and a wide range of songs were presented.Their songs invoked a strong sense of patriotism in each one who listened. The room was resplendent with a feeling of belonging and pride. The competition was judged by our respected in charge madam Mrs. Rashmi Sharma and Mrs. Anshu Mishra. Both the judges praised the effor ts of the participants. Appreciation was followed by the result of the competition:It was a great show and the success of the show could be well judged by the smile on the faces of the students and teachers.

Paper Bag Making and ower making Competition (22.07.2017)The students of grade I and II participated enthusiastically as they put their artistic, imaginative and creative skills to make beautiful paper bags. And the students of grade III-V showed their skills in Flower Making Competition on Saturday. They exhibited their air in the art and craft and used different material and papers to make owers and bags. Abundance of talent was being exhibited.

EDUCATIONAL TOURThe students of Himalaya International School returned from their North India tour. The tour is a part of Himalaya's vibrant curriculum which gives the opportunity to its students to study and explore the Incredible India. They not only explored the Northern India but also discovered the real identity of the vast North Indian culture. The team visited the places Rock Garden & Sukhna Lake Chandigarh, Christ Church & Mall Road Shimla, Kufri, Hadimba Devi Temple Manali, Snow Point Rohtang Pass and final destination was Brahma Sarovar, Shri Krishna Museum & Panorama & Science Center at Kurukshetra.The school Directors Mr. Sunil Dora, Mr. Sushil Kotwale, Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay congratulated the students and teachers for their successful tour completion.

TRAFF IC SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAM Himalaya International Ratlam organized Traffic Safety Awareness Program for Senior students.The T I of Traffic Police Mr. Deependra Singh Kushwaha explained road rules and the need to adhere to them to the students, besides explaining to them various traffic signs.He started his address with the thought that Right to life and safety is a fundamental right of any citizen. Addressing to the young students, he explained about the needs of awareness among the students and role they can play in reducing the number of accidents caused on roads. It was an interactive session during which the Students showed a high sense of awareness and also got the opportunity to learn many set of rules that are mandatory for driving. Mr. Heeralal Maida, T I (Women Cell) was also present in the program. At last Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay, Principal of Himalaya International gave Vote of Thanks.

I N T E R H O U S E G R O U P S O N G COMPETITION Music binds soul, hearts and emotions. It is a known fact that music is the best method of relaxation. Considering all these things, an Inter House Group Song competition was organized in our school on 12th August 2017 Students of class VI to XI represented their houses in it.

The songs selected for this competition comprised of patriotic theme. The competition reached to its Zenith of e x c i t e m e n t w i t h a n a b s o r b i n g competition among all the participants. Each house showed their mastery over voice modulation, sur, rhythm and other important aspects of singing. All the houses were eager to emerge as victorious, but it was Brahamputra House which bagged the first position followed by Ganga and Yamuna House.At the end Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay congratulated all the winners.

STUDENT'S COUNCIL TAKES OATHThe newly elected captains' council of Himalaya International School was sworn in at the Himalaya Campus on 15th August 2017. The oath ceremony was smoothly executed in the benign presence of the Chief Guest of the investiture ceremony Mr. Sunil Dora and Special Guest Mr. Sushil Kotwale, Directors of HIS. The Captains and Vice Captains were adorned with sashes and badges by the dignitaries. On this Occasion Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay and Director Mr. Sushil Kotwale motivated the students with their golden words. The Programme was compered by the students. The Chief Editor of Free Press, Indore, Mr. Sanjeev Ratan Singh was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Principal Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay delivered welcome speech and before distributing awards, the chief guest delivered his speech. Awardee Students also shared their secret of success. Following students were felicitated for their academic excellence-From class XI- Akshita Chattar, Inderjeet Singh Mahal, Mehul Jain, Prahalad Dhakad, Raveena Patidar, Ruchika Bhatt, Sukhmani Kaur Mahal and from class XII- Mehul Choudhary, Ishita Kasera, Ayush Gandhi, Jitendra Rathore, Anfaas Qureshi and Ayush Chaudhary.It was indeed a proud moment for the achievers and the ceremony motivated many more to aim for excellence.At the end Directors of the School Mr. Sunil Dora and Mr. Sushil Kotwale congratulated all the awardees.

EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO WIND MILL POWER PLANTScience department has conducted an educational visit to windmill power plant o 18-11-17 at Bercha near Bhatpachlana, along with Mr. Amarjyoti Gorai, Mr. Veer Singh and Ms. Pushpa Yadav.Grade X students have participated in the visit and enjoyed a lot under the guidance of Mr. Manoj Vaidya, Mr. Prithviraj Patel and Mr. Idi Ameen of SIEMENS GAMESA Windmill Power Plant.Students had gained practical knowledge of how renewable source of energy contributes in power sector.

Dazzling Fancy Dress Competition (KID FEST #GOONJ)HIS organized a grand and gorgeous Fancy Dress Competition for the Kids of Nursery to UKG of Himalaya Kids 80 feet Road Campus, Rambagh Campus and Himalaya International School main campus. The Chief Guests of the program were honorable Dr. Rajeev Gupta, our respected directors Mr. Sunil Dora and Mr. Sushil Kotwale and our Principal sir Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay. The members of jury were Respected Mrs. Neha Yadav and Mrs. Gupta. The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little ones by giving them an opportunity to perform on the stage. It was a highly awaited event as it is always a pleasure to watch the toddlers dressed up as di f ferent characters. The students came forward with their mothers displaying their vibrant costumes. The attraction of the Children's Day Celebration was an Art and Craft Exhibition where the things made by the students were displayed. We are indeed thankful to the parents for their great collaboration.
