How do I send a message?DocbookMD users can send a message two ways: users can either click the “Send Message” button from a physician profile OR click “Messages” in the menu and click the new message icon in the top right corner.

How to attach a file?To attach an image to a DocbookMD message, begin composing your message, choose your recipient, and then choose the attachment icon at the bottom left. (For Android, choose the camera icon). We recommend that you take a photo with DocbookMD. This will ensure that the photo is not saved to your photo library, and will help you remain HIPAA-secure. You can attach up to four photos to a message.

To attach a PDF to a DocbookMD message, on your mobile device, open the PDF and then choose the Share icon. Scroll right to locate DocbookMD in the list near the bottom of your display. If you do not see DocbookMD in the Share area, choose the More option, then locate DocbookMD and toggle the switch on, then choose Done.

DocbookMD and ShareFile have partnered to help you and your colleagues exchange HIPAA-secure files. Open the menu on the left and visit the Settings tab. Under ShareFile Integration, choose Log In and enter your ShareFile login information.

How do I make my DocbookMD the most secure? To make your DocbookMD account as HIPAA-secure as possible, we recommend that you enable a Personal Identification Number (PIN) lock within the app and also enable a PIN lock (or TouchID) on your mobile device. To enable a PIN lock within DocbookMD, go to the Menu on the left, then Settings, and toggle the Lock App with PIN switch to the on position. Create your four digit PIN. Frm now on, whenever you open the app, you are required to enter your pin.

How to setup enhanced notifications? On your mobile device in DocbookMD, click on the menu in the top left, then visit the Settings tab at the bottom left. Toggle Enhanced Notifications to on, then enter an email address, phone number, or both.

Now that enhanced notifications are enabled, if a message is sent to you with a 5-minute priority, for example, and the message goes unread for 4.5 minutes, you will receive an enhanced notification, to your mobile number, email address, or both. The message will not forward to email or text message - you will only receive a notification that a message is waiting for you and that you need to open DocbookMD to read it.
