HipBar is India’s first, legitimate drinks delivery app. With the HipBar app, you can browse a range of alcoholic beverages, select your brand and have it delivered at your doorstep or pick it up from a retail store at your convenience.
HipBar was founded by industry insiders with years of experience in the beverage alcohol category. HipBar was born out of the desire to provide better drinking experiences, promote responsible drinking and digitally connect brands, retail stores and consumers through a common platform.
With a stringent age verification process and compliance procedures, HipBar’s home delivery service aims to build a safe drinking environment in India.

An industry insider with over 10 years’ experience in the beverage alcohol
category, Prasanna started Sipping Spirits, India’s first boutique spirits
manufacturing and marketing company in 2007. He started HipBar with the
dream of providing better, digitally-enabled drinking experiences and creating a
smarter, more responsible drinking environment.
Prashant Adurty - COO
An engineer from Stanford and a management graduate from the London School
of Economics, Prashant has over 13 years’ experience in business strategy, IT and
operations with marquee Indian companies and consulting firms such as PwC,
Switzerland and Accenture Global.
Aprup Shet - AVP, Product
An engineer, Aprup has been a part of Sipping Spirits since its inception.
Passionate about fresh ideas and all things tech, he is a familiar face in the start-up
ecosystem.
Praveen Krishnamurthy - AVP, Platform Marketing
A banker with over 16 years’ experience, Praveen manages HipBar’s retail
network. He founded India’s first wine investment advisory firm in 2011 and is a

FAQs
Where do you deliver?
Currently, we operate in the city of Bengaluru. We plan to expand to other cities
soon.
How will my order be delivered to me?
Your order will be delivered to your location by our dedicated HipBar delivery
agents.
Is there any minimum order amount required for home delivery?
Yes. The minimum order amount is INR 500.
Is there a maximum order limit?
Yes. There is a maximum limit per user, per order for all product genres. This has
been prescribed by the Excise Department. Mentioned below are the possession
limits for the state of Karnataka.

Beer 18.2 litres
Wine 9.0 litres
FMFL 9.1 litres
What are your delivery hours?
We deliver from 2pm to 10pm.
Do you deliver to a public place?
No order for delivery will be entertained at a public place. We only deliver to a
customer’s residential address specified in the order.
What happens after I place my order?
Once you place an order, the order details are routed to the nearest retail partner.
Once confirmed, a delivery agent will pick up your order from the store and
deliver it to your residential address. We try to deliver within 2-3 hours of the order
being placed.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once the order has been acknowledged by the store manager and picked up
by our delivery agent from the store, you can track the order from the store to your
location, on the app. You may also call the delivery agent when he is en route, but
it isn't advisable to do so.
Can an order be cancelled by HipBar?
HipBar can cancel the order in case any of the following situations occur:
a) If the order has been placed to an address which is a public place
b) Underage recipient / no valid identity and age proof presented at the time
of delivery
c) Unruly behaviour by the customer
d) No show by customer up to 10 minutes since intimation of arrival
Do I have to be physically present at the time of delivery?
Yes, you have to be physically present at the residential address you’ve specified in
the order to collect the products that you ordered. Age-verification is mandatory
and therefore the customer's physical presence is a must.
What ID proof do I need to show the delivery agent to collect my order?
You must provide any one of the following government-recognised, original
documents for verification purposes:
Aadhaar Card Driving License Passport PAN Card Voter ID
Why should I show my ID proof?
HipBar services can only be availed by individuals who are above the legal
drinking age, which in Bengaluru is 21. Aadhaar is the default ID used for
biometric authentication of age. If it’s not available, other forms of valid, original
government ID for age verification and identification is mandatory, to receive the
items which are strictly meant for a 21+ audience. We take this business very
seriously and have a great of deal of responsibility to ensure that underage
drinking is not propagated.
Can I return the products after receiving delivery and get a refund?
No. Returning or exchanging items delivered to your location is not possible under
most circumstances. Once you receive the order, you must check the items for
authenticity – cap seal and hologram as soon as it arrives. If you find anything
suspect, you can report it to the customer care, and return the items before the
Delivery Agent leaves your presence. HipBar does not take any responsibility for
items that are unreported once they have been delivered and accepted.
How is the new version of the HipBar app different from the older version?
What features have been added/removed?
With the HipBar app, you can choose to pick up your reserved product from the
retail store or have it delivered to your residential location. You can also use the
“Pay with Wallet” feature to pay for a product of your choice at HipBar affiliated
retail stores. The “Redemption at Bars” feature has been discontinued for now and
will be back soon as an improved offering.
Is there a delivery radius that’s applicable for home delivery services?
To avail home delivery services, you must stay within 3 kilometers of any HipBar
affiliated retail store. The app will detect your location and accept your order only
if this condition is met.
HipBar services can only be availed by individuals who are above the legal drinking age in their respective city/state. Home delivery/store pickup is possible only after appropriate age-verification procedures are completed.

HOW HIPBAR PROMOTESRESPONSIBLE DRINKING
HipBar envisions building a responsible drinking community through its precise and thorough verification procedures. Here’s how the delivery process works:
No ID, No Drink!
HipBar services can only be availed by individuals who are above the legal drinking age in their respective city/state. HipBar ensures that no delivery occurs without the evidence of a valid, government-authorised ID proof.
A HipBar customer is required to furnish an original of any of the following documents to the delivery agent to receive the product(s).
HipBar delivery agents are instructed to cancel the order and return the products to the store if the customer fails to produce a valid ID proof.
Vetted & Verified
Once the ID proof is furnished, the delivery agent will check the same. If the proof of identity handed over is the Aadhar Card, the customer will have to verify his/her thumb impression on the delivery agent’s device and confirm his/her identity.
For other documents, the delivery agent verifies the last 4 digits of the unique document number on his device before handing over the product(s).
If at any stage, there’s a discrepancy in the documents or a misrepresentation of any kind, the order stands cancelled.
Delivered only at Residential Locations within shop timings
As per the rules of the Excise Department, delivery at a public place is strictly prohibited. Only residential locations will be considered for delivery, that too only during officially permitted working hours for licensed liquor shops.
