Mandatory Shot List at each Camp:

Site overview / Site from a distance

(At least 5 edited wide shots)

Capture the site from a distance with the surrounding area in view—like the opening

shot in a movie. Please stage these shots with your friends, food, beverages, gear.

Nature features on the property(At least 5 edited shots)

Nature comes in different forms. What shape does it take on this land? A swimming

hole or an aspen grove? Apple orchard or plowed field? Beautiful garden or rolling

hills? Capture these vibes.

Activities on the property(At least 3 edited shots)

Are there farm animals you can hang with? A sweet hiking trail or pretty spot to

watch the sunrise? Show us! Campfire shots are expected when permitted, so brush

up on your fire-starting skills.

Amenities (At least 2 edited shots)

What types of things has the Host added to make your stay amazing? This includes

toilets, showers, fire pits, picnic tables, outdoor games or activity rentals, etc.

If your Host is open to having their photo taken, we’d love for you to capture them

in their element.

Before you go: Review Shot List requirements

Step one

Edit your photos with our style guide in mind.

• Keep it warm and bright, but true to life.

• In general, we prefer horizontal photos, but we’d like to have at least one vertical zoomed-out accomodations photo (first item on shotlist).

• Please refrain from uploading black and white photos. We prefer all photos to be in color.

Step two

Upload your edited photos to each listing you photographed.

• Try to do this within 2-3 days of your trip.

• Make sure to mention if a photo you upload features something nearby, but not actually on the property. We love these, but unfortunately, they won’t count towards our minimum ask.

Step three

Add your recommendation and review.

• You will be prompted via email to submit your recommendation.

• Please write at least 3-4 sentences in your review of the listing.

Step four

You’ll receive an email alert when your work has been approved.

• Keep an eye out for an email that says the listing you visited was verified.

• Share it on social :)

• You will be paid for all approved trips on the second Wednesday of the month.

Style GuideProcessing — Bright, warm, and true to life

Raw ImageStraight from the camera.

Images should be shot in RAW (not JPEG),

and settings should be manually adjusted in

the camera at the time of capture for proper

exposure, aperture, focus, etc., to ensure

the shot is in the proper condition to be

processed.

Poorly-processed ImageNot a fit for the Hipcamp Photography Program.

Saturation adjustments have faded out the

true colors of the image.

The entire photo has a washed out brown or

red cast, and the whites look beige, not white.

The image appears dark, deep, and moody,

even though it was captured on a bright and

sunny day.

The greens have lost their saturation and true

tone, and the blues have been lost entirely.

Oranges have been exaggerated, and the

entire temperature is too warm.

Properly-processed ImageWe like these kind.

The image appears bright and warm, but is

still a true-to-life representation of the scene.

The whites in the image are actually white.

Highlights and shadows have been adjusted

such that the image appears light and airy, not

dark or moody.

Blues have not been eradicated, and the

greens retain their natural hue and saturation.

The image does not appear washed out, nor is

there a colored cast distorting the tones.
