Introduction

Hippos are mammals that like to spend most of their time in the water. But if they are bothered, they can get mad. Hippos are also good swimmer's.

Hippos are in trouble

• There used to be several species of hippos. Now only two species are still alive

• A hippo’s only enemy is a human• People bring home trophies made out of a

hippo’s head

Hippos live in grassy areas with water.

• Hippos live in Europe, England, Africa and China

• Hippos also live in grasslands• Most of the time they live near the water

Hippos spend most of their time in the water

• Hippos have special web toes to make them swim faster

• Hippos can stay under water for 30 minuets• When hippos dive, there special muscles close

up• Hippos are good swimmer’s

Hippos are very clean

• Birds clean off hippos• Birds eat ticks and flies off a hippos body• A little bird can clean off a big hippo
